How quickly do you ship orders?
All orders are processed and shipped from our Winkler, MB dispatch facility within 1 business day. We use tracked, expedited courier options to ensure the STS solution arrives quickly and does not experience prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures.
Do you offer bulk wholesale or breeder accounts?
Yes. If you operate a licensed commercial nursery or seed bank, contact us using the form above. Provide your company details or Order ID from a previous purchase, and we can discuss wholesale tiers and larger volume bulk containers.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Because we process orders almost immediately, please submit any cancellation or address change requests within 30 minutes of placing the order. Include your Order ID and select "Urgent Order Modification" in the form above.
What is your refund policy?
We stand by the quality and chemical purity of our STS spray. If your package arrives damaged or leaking, submit a photo to our support email within 48 hours of delivery, and we will issue a replacement or full refund immediately.
How should STS stock solutions be stored?
Keep STS stock solutions (Part A and Part B) in their original amber bottles in a cool, dark place, preferably a refrigerator. Do not freeze them. Stock solutions stored properly will remain fully bioactive for up to 6 months.
How long does the mixed STS spray remain active?
Once Part A and Part B are diluted and mixed together in a spray bottle, the active silver thiosulfate complex begins to degrade. For maximum potency, we recommend using the mixture within 24 to 48 hours of preparation.
What water quality should I use for mixing?
Always use distilled or high-purity deionized water. Tap water and standard spring water contain dissolved minerals (such as calcium, chlorine, and magnesium) that can react with the active reagents, causing premature precipitation of silver and rendering the solution inactive.
Why does my mixed solution look cloudy?
If the solution appears cloudy or has white/grey precipitation, it indicates chemical degradation—most commonly caused by using non-distilled water, mixing the concentrates in the wrong order, or using containers contaminated with soap residue.
Can STS be applied during the light cycle?
To avoid phytotoxicity and leaf burn, always apply the STS spray just before the dark cycle or under low-intensity green/ambient light. Active light exposure accelerates the photolytic reduction of silver on the leaves, causing tissue damage.
How many applications are typically required?
For most target cultivars, a series of 3 applications spaced 7 days apart provides optimal results. Begin the first application 3 to 5 days prior to transitioning to the flowering photoperiod.
How do I target the spray application?
Focus the spray directly on the shoot apices (growing tips) and node junctions where future flower clusters will form. Drenching the entire plant or mature fan leaves is unnecessary and increases the risk of leaf burn.
Is STS safe for plants intended for consumption?
No. Silver is a heavy metal and systemic agent. Treated plant tissue and any seeds or fruit produced directly on the sprayed plant must NEVER be consumed. STS is strictly for breeding and seed-production purposes only.
What is the difference between STS and Colloidal Silver?
Colloidal silver is a suspension of elemental silver particles that requires daily, heavy application and has low systemic mobility. STS is a water-soluble chemical compound that penetrates plant tissues systemically, requiring far fewer applications and yielding much more consistent reversals.
How do I know if the reversal is succeeding?
Within 10 to 14 days after the first application, you should observe a temporary cessation of growth at the treated apices, accompanied by slight yellowing. Following this, the new node growth will form male staminate flowers instead of female pistils.
What should I do if my plant shows leaf burn?
Minor leaf tip yellowing or spotting is a normal reaction to silver. If severe burning or necrosis occurs, increase the dilution ratio by adding 10-20% more distilled water in your next mixture, or space your applications further apart.
How do I store the pollen collected from reversed flowers?
Pollen should be collected in sterile glass vials or microcentrifuge tubes. For short-term storage, keep it in a desiccator inside a refrigerator. For long-term viability (up to a year), mix the pollen with sterilized flour or silica gel and store in a deep freezer at -20°C.
Can I use STS on outdoor crops?
Yes, but outdoor applications are subject to wind drift and UV degradation. Spray on calm evenings to ensure the solution remains on the plant overnight and does not dry too quickly or blow onto non-target plants.
Why is surfactant included in the kit?
Waxy cuticles on leaves naturally repel water. The botanical surfactant lowers surface tension, allowing the STS solution to spread evenly and adhere to the nodes rather than bead up and run off.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship to the United States, Europe, and select international destinations. All customs declarations are labeled with the correct scientific classification (Horticultural Reagents) to ensure smooth customs clearance.
Can I reuse the spray bottle?
If reusing the spray bottle, rinse it thoroughly multiple times with distilled water. Never use soap or chemical detergents, as any residue can destabilize the silver thiosulfate complex in your next batch.
